Today I Will Be Better Than Me Yesterday

Today I Will Be Better Than Me Yesterday

If you wake up with this thought - you are one step closer to success in any area of your life.

There are many distractions around, and it's easy to be caught in activities which won't get us closer to our dreams. And we end up living our lives without purpose and procrastinate a lot.

Today I Will Be Better Than Me Yesterday

It's essential to have Dreams and clear Goals in our lives; without a clear destination, it's easy to get lost and miss the opportunity to achieve everything you ever wanted.

Goals Setting - Simple Technique

Setting any goal for yourself must be challenging and take you out of your comfort zone. This is essential because doing things you have never done before will create new neural patterns in your brain, and these new neural patterns will assist you in developing your winning mindset.

If a goal is too easy, it is not worth writing down. Just do it anyway! You will not develop your winning mindset by doing things that don't challenge you. Winners always relish a challenge, and you need to as well.

You must write your goals down. Having a copy of your dreams on your computer is OK, but write them down initially. There is something about using a pen and paper to record your goals that are empowering. It's recommended that you start a journal and record them there. It is a great tool for tracking your progress and reflecting on your achievements.

You need to record your goals in a format that will help you to achieve them.

Here is what the SMART goal-setting process is all about:

Specific – you must set clear goals. What exactly do you want to achieve? Don't just say that you want to lose weight or earn extra money. Be clear about how much you want to lose (e.g. 30 pounds) or how much money you want to make (e.g. $100,000).

Measurable – it is essential that you can measure your goals so that you will know how well you are progressing. So with a weight loss goal, you can step on the scales periodically to see how well you are doing. To earn more money, keep a record of your income every month.

Attainable
 – this is all about believing that you can achieve the goal. You should go for whatever you want, but if you are in your mid-fifties and a bit overweight, then being the next Olympic gold medal winner in most disciplines will not be attainable. Neither is making a million dollars over a weekend.

Realistic
–is the goal you have set absolute? Do you have the resources, money and skills to achieve it? I am not asking you to limit yourself here, but you must keep it accurate. You will not lose 30 pounds in a week, nor will you learn to speak another language fluently in a short time.

Timed – there must be a deadline for each of your goals. This is pretty simple to understand. Choose a time frame to achieve your goal. Is it three months, six months or a year? These are all short periods.

Once your Goals are set, it's time to make a plan and take Action.

Once you know your WHY and clear Goal, it's time to take ACTION.

We must take action to be able to achieve our Goals. Sometimes it involves sacrificing something.

We are always making choices, choosing to watch TV or read a book. Go outside for a walk or scroll through social media. Hit the snooze button on your phone or get up and start doing something which will get you closer to your goals. We are in control of making this choice.

Today I Will Be Better Than Me Yesterday

Have you done everything you wanted to do yesterday? Did you have a plan?

If the answer is no, the first action to becoming better today than yesterday is to start planning and take steps to achieve everything on the list.

It's not easy to build a habit and discipline, but it gets easier after a while. Progress needs to be measured, and having a simple to-do list is a great way to track and monitor your progress.

It also builds confidence and self-esteem. I always feel great if everything is completed on my list for a day.

Today I Will Be Better Than Me Yesterday

I chose to be better today than yesterday; I decided to become the best version of myself; I chose not to be average. I made a choice, and its starts today.

NO EXCUSES

What will you choose?

Have a great day!

  1. Thank you for sharing Today I Will Be Better Than Me Yesterday!

This is such a great affirmation you should tell yourself every single day!

It’s true, if you don’t know where you are going or your destination, you will never get there.

Always work hard and strive to be better than you were the day prior every day.

Creating smart goals help you with planning your journey to success!

Quite an inspirational site.  It helps us to look at where we are in life versus where we want to be.  Goal settig for me involves a vision board that has the same intent as writing down the goals you set.  The house I want to live in , the cars I want to drive.  The legacy I want to leave for my grandchild and for my community.

These are all displayed in beautiful living color pictures  that I can look at each day as I get closer.  Your method is very effective and will put a plan into action and spur us out of our comfort zone to get better, do better and win faster than we did yesterday because we know where we are going.

    1. Thank you, Virginia. Life is short, and we don’t want to waste it by not trying to achieve our Dreams and Goals. Appreciate your comment. Have a great day. Regards. Vlad
